akogun mission field
Akogun field comprises 6 villages; Akogun, Onipepeye, Labiede, Ayetoro, Ogbe Inu and Ogbe Igbore.
Back in 2010 when SOL first arrived here the people were living in much darkness and bondage. During the outreach, God healed the Baale’s favourite wife. After the outreach, the baale so moved by the healing of his now recovered wife, acceded to our request to start a church in the village. There was no church in the village, only a mosque, and predictably the people resisted. But the Baale ignored his people’s complains, declaring he was giving a piece of his own land for the intended church, and asked any one who wanted to join himself and his family to worship ” the new dimension ” as he called it, was welcomed. The very next day he proceeded to the bush alone, cut down strong young tree trunks and singlehandedly constructed a place of worship. That was the beginning of Akogun’s transformation.
To the glory of God, about 85% of the inhabitants of the villages that make up Akogun mission field are Christians with several churches dotting the villages. We were the first here. SOL has two planted churches in this field, and continues to hold discipleship meetings in Ogbe, Ayetero and Akogun villages every week.
Missionaries Wole and Esther Ajayi currently leads the work here.
