owudekudu mission field
A story of total obedience, total clarity and belief in God
Owodekudu field was first entered into in December of 2009 as a joint effort between SOL and an evangelist. After the three day event the evangelist walked away, citing no plans to continue work there. Since there was no church in Owudekudu at that time, SOL had no choice but to take responsibility for discipling the converts won. This soon translated into a full fledged Church which commenced February of 2010, after God had shown Henry Oise a vision with the instruction “…this is little London. I will bring great transformation to this place.” This has happened.
Today Owudekudu which was a thick forest with few buildings is bursting at the seams with new buildings majorly by strangers and a growing government presence. Predictably, SOL has contributed much to this transformation. Our strong emphasis on discipleship has ensured members renounce idolatry, and the stronghold of witchcraft that once held sway is almost gone.
In late April of 2013 we began a free tuition school, New Life Academy, Owudekudu. This school has brought great visibility to Owudekudu, with the government taking notice. The school presently has over 153 pupils, with our children coming from nine villages, some far flung. His Word has made our journey of Faith easier than it would have been. God’s Word remains our guiding light, even as we begin a new journey of faith – a vocational secondary school been designed to ensure that rural children get the necessary skill set relevant for today’s world.
