SOL BOARD OF TRUSTEE MEMBER

Sabina Idowu-Osehobo was the Executive Director of one of the leading  poverty alleviation organization in Africa.

 

Her educational background spans the fields of Mass communication, English Language, Literature and Development Studies. She is also an alumnus of the Chief Executive Programme CEP 26 of the Lagos Business School. She has worked with various media organizations including The Nigerian Observer and Here and There magazine where she served as editor.

 

Sabina is skilful in the design and implementation of social and health programmes. A highly experienced trainer, she has attended several courses including Project Management, Community Home-Based Care and Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS (CHBC/ PMTCT) and HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT) organized by USAID/Pathfinders International in Abuja in 2004.

 

She has certificates in HIV/AIDS mainstreaming in the workplace, organisational development and management, information and communications management, people management, Gender mainstreaming, Gender budgeting, proposal development  and financial management for non-financial managers amongst others. Sabina is the arrow head of her organization’s  advocacy programme. She also provides  financial and non financial services in the areas of health, business management and financial literacy which has impacted positively on the lives of millions of Nigerians as shown by verifiable records.

 

She is a member of the chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), where she is currently the vice chairperson of the chapter in Edo State. She is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), Fellow Institute of Management Consultants, Member Society for Corporate Governance and the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ).

 

 A human rights activist and a women’s right advocate, Sabina was the Edo State coordinator of Women In Nigeria (WIN), from 1996-1998. She was a member of coalition to save Nigeria and served as its Treasurer in Edo State.  She was a member of the National Consultative Forum on Women and AIDS a committee set up by then first lady HajiaTurai Yaradua. She also served briefly as the Edo State coordinator of women for change an initiative of former first lady Dame Patience Jonathan. She is a broadcaster and presenter of the television programme Bridging the Gap which airs on some television stations in Nigeria.

 

Sabina sits on the board of various organisations including  Rehabilitation Initiative for Counselling and Education health Care (RICH) as well as the board of Project Charilove and organisation caring for children with disabilities. She is also a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Edo province six missions board.
