Dr Aigbe Gregory Ohihoin is a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist and a Chief Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research. His undergraduate and post-graduate trainings are spread over three continents of the world. MBBS(Uniben),MSc(Unilag),FMCOG(Nig),FWACS(WA),MCIArb(UK),DMAS(Del),PGDCR(Liverpool).
He is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the National Post-graduate Medical College, Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He holds a Fellowship and Diploma in the field of Minimal Access Surgery from Asia’s Premiere Institute of Laparoscopy, the Laparoscopy Hospital in Delhi India. He further obtained a diploma in Clinical research from the University of Liverpool. He is an alumnus of the Japan International Cooperation agency (JICA).
Dr. Ohihoin has been admitted into the membership of several local and international medical associations including the Nigerian Medical Association, Society of gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON), Association for Fertility and Reproductive health (AFRH) and the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons. He is the founder of Nigeria’s first online maternity (www.pregnancynigeria.com).
He has authored six books in his specialty –Obstetrics and Gynaecology and contributed chapters to other authors along with over forty publications in peer review journals and varied academic resources. His current research interest at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research is on fertility care and regulation in patients who are infected with HIV infection.
Apart from his medical training, Dr.Ohihoin is a trained Arbitrator and Mediator with a bias towards resolving disputes in the Health sector. He was enrolled as a member of the Chartered Institute of arbitrators of the United Kingdom, after becoming the first medical doctor to pass the accelerated membership exams. Shortly after, he was enrolled as a CEDR accredited mediator by exams also becoming the first medical doctor to have achieved this feat in the country. He has been a member of the LMDC Panel of Neutrals.
His experience in mediation is largely, but not restricted to the health sector, where he has been involved in several high profile mediations. This has driven his research interest in introducing Alternative Dispute Resolution clauses to health sector settings. He founded the Medical Dispute and Conflict Resolution Limited- an organization committed to advocacy and training in the field of medical mediation and dispute resolution.
Dr Gregory uses most of his vacation to serve the LORD as a medical missionary in SOL mission fields as well as those of other mission agencies and churches.
He is happily married to his best friend, Esther and they are blessed with two children.
